Neighborhood Watch Alert!

Installation of a gate at the entrance of the common area known as the Old Gun Club (located near the intersection of Ashbrook Road and Williamson Lane) has prevented further damage to the field and roadway caused by vehicles, but did not prevent mischief from four local teenagers (both resident and nonresident of Ashbrook Village).

Fairfield County Deputies were called Sunday afternoon April 27, to investigate a report of four youths exploding homemade devices at the back pond. Statements were taken from witnesses, the youths were identified and charges are being filed. In addition to finding several exploded plastic bottles there were several cans with bullet holes and much broken glass found in the field below the pond.

Children should not be allowed in this area without adult supervision. If you hear gunshots or explosions you are requested to notify the Fairfield County Sheriff's office immediately. Below are pictures (click on pic to enlarge) of one of the exploded homemade devices and cans with what appear to be bullet holes.
