KEEPING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD SAFE

Ashbrook Village resident Greg Sheets, with the Community Watch program, would like to offer the following tips:

~ Keep an eye out for suspicious cars/people in the neighborhood and report them. A license plate number is great if there is a concern.

~ If you are in the back yard, keep your garage door down and front door locked.

~ Arrange to have your yard mowed and papers picked up when you are going to be away for an extended period so it will not be obvious that nobody is home.

~ If you have an upstairs bedroom and can sleep with the windows open, listen for unusual noises at night (screams, glass breaking, etc.).

~ Most important, if someone leaves their garage door open all night by mistake, we might want to consider a call to let them know. I would rather have a late night call from a neighbor than have my garage cleaned out or my house entered while I am asleep.

For emergencies call 911, for non-emergencies call 837 7913. When making a report of your concern you need only to provide: street name, house number, your phone number and name (optional).
